Ms. Boyd has worked through cases dealing with divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, equitable division of assets, legitimations, paternity, modification, contempt, and family violence. Ms. Boyd has also worked with multiple government agencies, including, but not limited to Fulton County Pretrial Services, has volunteered for multiple non-profit organizations, and has experience in public speaking. She has mediation training as approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and has proven herself to be prepared for negotiations or courtroom appearances.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Joanna attended Georgia State University where she studied the Legal Issues Track in Criminal Justice and Sociology. She then attended Atlanta John Marshall Law School where she became an active member of the Student Bar Association (SBA), Black Law Student Association (BLSA), Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL), Criminal Law Society, and Family Law Society. Ms. Boyd graduated in the top sector of her class at both Georgia State University and Atlanta John Marshall before taking and passing the Georgia Bar Exam.
Ms. Boyd is a fully equipped litigator. She approaches each one of her cases with an open mind, tailoring her strategy to fit the needs of each individual client. Ms. Boyd specializes in advocacy and customer service, providing clients with legal advice and support during the most difficult times of their life.
As a mother, Ms. Boyd is keen to advocate for clients seeking an outcome that is in the best interest of their child(ren). Outside of the courtroom, she is committed to creating the best possible life for her little one and is not afraid to use the same advice she gives on the daily basis to do so. Ms. Boyd is a huge fan of football and follows her home team, the Atlanta Falcons. She is also a lover of music, dance, art, and all things creative.
